The future doesn’t belong to us. We have to create it.
Do we actually matter to the Earth? On average, we are hardly two meters tall. Earth is 12,000 kilometers in diameter. Compared to the Earth, we are tiny specks hardly able to withstand erosion. But that doesn’t mean we are insignificant. According to National Geographic, human consumption has changed the face of the planet more than any other species. So what are we doing, who are we, why are we here, anyway?
We’re here to build sand castles with the sun beating down on our backs. We’re here to be whipped around by chilly currents, to eat marshmallows over campfires, and to shout at concerts, limbs flailing. We are full of laughter, hope, curiosity, and sorrow. We yearn to explore the world and then some. The world and the planet are beautiful places, and we believe in fighting for their survival.
Commitment to the cause
More than that, we want to fight to protect our environments through conscious action, relationship-building, and by disrupting “innovation” with real sustainable actions. Much like the Earth, we create music. The rustle of trees and the waves breaking on the shore is comparable to our violins, our voices, and our internal melodies. If you step back and look at the “big picture,” our impact on Earth is more than noticeable. We’ve created dams, sculpted new rivers, invented water wheels, and have propelled ourselves on electricity alone. We’ve also created wastelands of plastic, ash, and toxic sludge.
It begins with small steps
There is still work to do. The planet, though beautiful and vast, is still a mystery to us. There is no reason for it to remain polluted. From the Pacific Coast of California to the buoyant Mediterranean to the warm Indian Ocean, we believe that adventure awaits. We want to be around for those adventures to happen.
With our family at our sides, and our best friends trailing close behind, we want to work toward a cleaner Earth. It is not ethical for marine organisms to eat litter. It is unacceptable for more than 38 million plastic bottles, in America alone, to flood our shores each year. We are the people who reject these conditions and want to fix them.

Whether you pick up a stray piece of trash on the road or enter the sustainability industry, you are capable of doing something, no matter how small. We are all small together.
